Timeshift (Buttes Bergeyre) — Paris, 2024
Description
Timeshift superimposes different moments of the same Parisian space — a photographic investigation into time, memory and the layering of urban experience.
The project explores urban transformations through a photographic approach inspired by the PHOTO-TOPO-GRAPHIE research project (2019), conducted at the ISP of Université Paris-Nanterre in partnership with Isabelle Bakouche (EHESS), Sarah Gensburger (ISP-CNRS), and Arno Gisinger (Paris 8).
Drawing on photographic archives from the Paris urban planning department, I revisited these locations to capture their present-day evolution. Images from both eras are superimposed and reworked using Photoshop and Illustrator, blending architectures from different periods.
This process culminates in a collage made of paper and polyester, adding texture and depth while inviting reflection on the continuity and ruptures within Paris's architectural landscape.
